Why This Driving Question?
- The driving question is open ended in many ways. Different student groups will choose different diseases to research based on their passions, desires, and interests. Depending on the disease that students choose, they may begin to apply concepts of cells, bacteria, and viruses; cell reproduction; or genetics to their project. As students begin to learn about their specific disease they will be asked to research the following information:
- What is a disease?
- What is the cause of our disease?
- Is this disease genetic, bacterial or viral?
- What are the symptoms of our disease?
- What affect does the disease have on the cellular level?
- Are there certain people groups that have this disease more than others?
- How can nanotechnology play a role in treating/curing the disease?
